This week consisted out of 2 types of assignments, 'master studies' and iterations on the daily thumbnails made during week 2. The master studies were about analyzing movie shots, taking not of what camera lense and position were used as well as where the lighting came from. Furthermore the contrast and repetition within the image also had to be analyzed.
Won't be posting every single image as they aren't very creative, but below is a shot-breakdown from the movie Ivan's Childhood (Ivanovo detstvo) from 1962. Aside from this movie I also analyzed Citizen Kane (1941) and Seven Samurai (Shichinin no samurai) from 1954.
And here are the iterations on the previously created thumbnails. The shot had to be the same, however the subject of it needed to be different with each iteration. Showing that the subject, while important, isn't as big of a deal compared to the shapes that make up the composition.
